Vision: See Oneself in All and All in Oneself
Mission: Feed Food, Seed Love
We are a grassroots, volunteer-based organization. Our main objective is to help various small organizations involved each day in the noble deed of alleviating hunger in rural villages. In this journey, we also hope to uplift the lives in the areas we serve by providing needed support.
Arutkanji is a healthy, herbal porridge made of broken rice and spices. There are several individuals and small organizations (Sanmarga Sangams) who make the herbal porridge each day and distribute to many.
The main beneficiaries are :
Through funds collected each month (mainly from the US donors), we help procure key ingredients for Arutkanji (rice, cumin, pepper, fenugreek, and lentils) in the wholesale market and distribute them. Due to Covid (unemployment and children out of school), the number of people needing food has increased multifold.
We also support the education and health needs of families in the areas where we serve.
